Looking at Crumpler's website, they do not show a shoulder pad on the 5MDH, but they do show one on the 6MDH and the 7MDH...so I'm assuming the 5MDH does not come with one. Can anyone confirm?

I'm thinking about adding a 5MDH to my arsenal for when I want to travel light.

Thanks!

Doesn't come with one--shouldn't need it either. I don't think you could put enough stuff in a 5MDH to make it heavy enough.

FWIW I don't use the shoulder pads on my 6 or 7 MDH's--they're a little bulky for me.

The should pads are a touch bulky on the 6/7, but I couldn't imagine using them without (I tend to stuff my bags). They're loosely fitted (which threw me at first) but allow for one important function: you can swing the bag around very easily to work out of it.

But I believe timnosenzo is right, I don't think you can put enough into the 5 to worry about it.

I have both a 5MDH and a 7MDH, the 5 did not come with a strap pad, I tried using my 7MDH one on it, and it was just too bulky.

I used my 7MDH pad on my 5MDH when I had it. I like the pad. I wish I kept that bag too...

Tha pad IMO helps the bag swing better like if you carry it on your back, it swings to the front w/o the strap rubbing on you. Instead it runs through the pad.
