fresh off their headling gig on Saturday Night Live, they played a soldout show in Boston. here's a review of the show (http://www.transformonline.com/music/articles/006817.php) for those who like reading words along w/ looking @ pictures. for a good-sized room, the lighting was crap, hence the b/w conversion dominance.

I really like #2. I can almost here the words....Oh yea, Thats 'cause I am listening to Spoon right now:D
I am a fan of tight shots that show the expressions and character of the artist!

Man, even the terrible lighting at the B-52's concert I just posted had better light than this ... I too like your closeups from this. I need to spend a week shooting with you.

i can check to see if i blended two exposures, but i don't think so...most of my PP these days happens solely in ACR (aside from any resizing/sharpening, via Manyk).

Does the Roxy generally allow photography, or did you have to call ahead to ask?

i was reviewing the show for a website (see link in the 1st post) but chatting w/ the security guy before the show led me to believe that they don't allow SLR-type cameras w/o a pass..point and shoot cameras are ok.
i'd shot there once before (Calexico, in '06) w/o a pass and didn't get a hassle, but maybe they''ve tightened their policy.

Spoon is an incredible band. Every minute of their latest album is a joy.

Great pictures, and I enjoyed the review as well. I wish you would use a larger font for the article though, but not a big deal.
I like #4 the most, simply for the great timing.

# Two is very cool Narlus... and the crop in # 3 is excellent... Are you finding a particular style, that you're trying to stick with? Maybe Dwight will visit Mass. again... Camaraderie does wonders for the morale. (And one's healthy ego.)
EDIT: re #2, thank goodness for quality dental work...
By the way Narlus, I extended the picture limit for the Best of 2007 thread... Help me out and post some more... Cheers.

thanks John! as far as a style goes, i don't instinctively have one when shooting; i just try to anticipate the moment and keep an eye on my exposure settings. i think styles are probably more prevalent with respect to post-processing...and i've still got a lot to learn there.
i did see the addition of two more to yr best of '07 thread, so i will dig through the folders and see what i can add.
