Imported Crumper Bags

I would like a Daily DA750 but they aren't sold in the states. How would I go about purchasing one of these bags other then traveling to Europe to get one? Does anyone thing I'm crazy? I might want to get one of the imported backpack as well.

Yes, but it depends on how much the OP wants it. There's not exactly a cheap way to do it.

Yeah the cheapest after a quick search for the bag alone with the UK is £90 ($180) through Amazon, so you could order it direct from them, or get it delivered free to a UK member then them forward it. But the very minimum would be about £100 ($200)

Only my second post here.

I have just recently gotten back into photography after a layoff of a couple of year. After buying my gear, I started the quest for the perfect bag. Of course I quickly came to the conclusion that there is no such thing :)

However, the Crumpler daily L came close enough to what I needed. So I was in the same quandry as the OP. How can I get a Crumpler daily L at a reasonable price in the US?

I could not find a way to do it - the stores willing to ship to the US were too expensive and the shipping just killed you. I tried the UK ebay - bid and lost on a couple of bags there.

Finally, I enrolled the help on my cousin who lives in the UK. He ordered the bag for me at a reasonable price and currently has it in his possession. We both are going to be in India over Christmas for a vaction and that where he will hand it over to me. This is testing my patience :)

i wonder if you could order one for me and have your cousin hand off two at once...haha...just kidding. i might end up eating the shipping charge and get one shipped here somehow. if the bag is that great, then the shipping cost would not make a differnce, unless its the price of the bag...ouch.

Amazon.co.uk I would say is your best bet, for checking out shipping costs

i just went to amazon.co.uk and the total came out to be £113, including shipping. I checked a currency converter and it says its about $170, is that right?

??? Is that in US dollars? If so, I think something is wrong with your currency converter! The one I use (http://www.oanda.com/convert/classic) comes out as $230, not 170. Also note that most credit cards give you a poorer exchange rate (mine is 3% worse than the interbank rate).

i converted the wrong currencies. i used euros instead of gbp. so a daily xl would cost me $250, just about. thats something to think about. lets just take a trip to europe and done.

That does not sound right. The exchange rate is approximately $2.03 per £. So £113*2.03 = $230.

I asked him to buy it from fotosense.co.uk. I paid £73.50 with next day delivery. Keep in mind that I bought the DA490 and not the DA750 that you are looking to purchase. The DA750 at the same site is about £91.25 + shipping. I am not sure if they ship to the US or not.

I know that I tried looking for the Daily XXL and when I went to Europe to pick one up (well I was at a shoot), it was 180 euros. With the dollar conversion rate from Euro's, I might as well bend over and have them slap me silly.

So...I'll hold off for now.

BTW: it's about 1.50 dollar to 1 euro exchange rate.
