What a job, while I haven't finished them all, this is the start of the wedding items. I guess I should wait till I actually have something worth showing, but C&C welcomed!

I have a few more done, but that's what I like for the most part. Thing is, I learned how to best use my flash after the actual ceremony so I'm stalling on those and I'm working up to then from the end back.

^Well, they really were for the most part. But it was both their 2nd wedding so...I think they did a lot just not like some would on their first. I tried to brighten up what I could.
Thanks though!

WB is off and most look underexposed...

ditto to what melisap said. it looks like you just exposed for the lights in each of the scenes instead of the entire area. btw...where are the people? :-P there's usually people that go to weddings. :-)

I don't think the white balance is TOO bad... exposure is definitely off though. I think you would have more people commenting if you posted some pictures with people in them :D

Yeah, WB I know. I'm working on that, but exposure was impossible unless I busted out the tripod. Like shooting in a castle lit by candles. Most of these were ISO 800 F2.8 1/50.
I'm working on people shots now and tonight. Thanks for the comments. I was going to work on my first album with what I got for the time being, so that's why i wanted these to be nice or as nice as they can be.

Go to ISO 1600 and use noise reduction if you have to... it can be a simple step in post processing.

Basing my comments more on experience as a wedding photographer consumer (I've had to pick one 4 times in the last 12 months), my blunt opinion is that you've got a fair amount of practice to go with just learning exposure properly. The composition looks pretty good for me and I appreciate these types of shots (in addition to the people shots) because they capture the venue, etc for the couple (before people arrive). That said, I do think that exposure is something that just has to be there technically, otherwise, photos look like they were taken with a P&S by Grandma.

Not a bad start. Composition isn't such an issue, but I'd work on nailing the right exposure a little more and really pulling out some clever PP-work to bring out some oomph. Bring on the people shots!

Most were already hit up with Noise Reduction and I hate how soft it made them. I worked on one with USM and then Noise, trying to balance it out where it was sharp but then killing out noise. That was the wide angle piano shot.
I really think exposure is opinion. I like natural light and while sure I could have used a tripod to see what a decent exposure would be, some wedding shots I've seen I can notice flash and despite what some people say are great, I prefer light available when it calls for.
Also, this is the first half. And these were just to show the venue.

Aravena at 1600 with correct exposure your pictures would look fine, on your screen perhaps a little noisey but printed you would not see it.
Just my humble opinion

u need to work on the WB
Definitely agree. Aside from missed focus and exposure (pics here are a bit dark too), the only other thing that "kills" an image for me is poor white balance (some of these shots are a bit yellow).
Ummm, did you shoot these in RAW?... Hopefully you did...

I noticed the noise thing when printed. Now I hate that I might have overdone the noise reduction. Oh well, aniwho, I now have people pictures. Some I had to get real creative because they were horrible in blur, noise or something. I might post those. Here are a few examples.
By the way, thanks guys. While I agree on the yellow, that's how it looked in there, although I did edit the las tone, of the tent.

Next time though ISO 1600 will be a must, monopod if they don't mind, and just those two would have helped. Also, don't fight with my fiancee before hand. Had me uneasy. Thanks again. Luckily my next ones are outside.

Have to agree with what has been said already. Try adjusting the white balance and the exposure.

nice photos but the second on in the first set is driving me nuts,
the mat the piano and the chanderlier are all out of wack, they arent straight,
i have this thing about straight , IT HAS TO BE STRAIGHT,
but i know thats not your fault. i would have been a pain and asked the venue to fix it LOL.

I know. I've tried to crop some and straighten it but there's still something slightly off. And cropping takes too much out. I sent them a copy of the shot, but it looked straight in the shoot initially.

Since you have no exif data in these photos, I can't tell what color space these are in. Perphaps Adobe1998? That could explain why everyone thinks they're underexposed.

Aravena, ok I feel like i am doing you no help by my above comment.
A few critiques (tip's) which are only meant to help you improve :-
1) If it doesn't add to the picture, don't include it! Pic 1 has too much airspace above and the focus point used is uninteresting.(WB off as well)
2) Shoot RAW, especially inside so you can fix up your white balance which is out in every photo. Hence the "Yellow" tinge to everything.
3) Pic 2's all wrong. If you are going to "break" the rule of third's, centralize everything in this sort of shot and get all your lines straight!
4) Pic 3's lacking a focus point? - In a shot like this you should be able to read or make out the writing, use f2.8, focus on the writing and recompose if you want all else to be blury. If you want it all to be in focus use f8 a tripod if no flash and focus on the book.- But focus somewhere interesting!
5) Pic 4's just a snap shot with a sheet of paper or folder on the RHS, read tip one above..
6) Pic 5 is just uninteresting without people in it. A shot like this you could make interesting by focusing close up on the flowers, or whats on the table on the alter, the 3 column thingies with the light behind,,,,.....- learn to seeeeeeeeee,,,,...there is lots in this room you could play with!
7) Pic 6 is a shot granny would take. The timing and the bride arnt happy. The white balance makes her look ill. Mainly the wrong time to take this shot, get her looking into the mirror, or the helpers doing up the back of the dress, but not this sort of thing.
8) Pic 7 - You could have got a great shot here, but you missed it!@ What a great background with the black and white piccy behind her!, with her looking or playing up for the camera you could have nailed it! Grrrrrrrrrrr!!!!! Elbow in the RHS foreground doesn't help. See tip number 1.
9) Pic 9 You blew the blacks, the grooms suit has no depth at all, its just flat black. there are also focus issues, the Celebrant appears OOF. I would have gone to either side, and shot for the brides face, capturing the "look" with him OOF, then the same thing other side. You obviously couldn't use a flash and the way the lighting is you would have got a better piccy.
10) the last pic the girl in red should be either in the pic or out. See tip number one. You could obviously use a flash here, I would have nicely asked the bride to back up closer to the beautiful background with the column thingys and the curtains', then asked her to think of cold nights, an fire place and a fluffy rug!@ - maybe you would have got a winner smile and a money shot.!!!
Sorry if this seems harsh, but I think im fair in critique, please see my wedding shots here on POTN. Too often we all say, "Yeah, great pictures blog's, well done, ye har, - just cause it's easy and quicker than what i have written here. But I have learnt and applied so much that i have learnt here, - believe me it really helps you to get better!, so dont shoot the messenger!
Cheers, and may your next one be sensational!
- (and always WATCH YOUR BACKGROUNDS!)

While I admit to the same probems in my own shots, you really have to watch the DOF. It's out of kilter in almost every picture.
