Just purchased the subject camera. Its my first digital. Traded off my beautiful Minolta 7000. I really hated to see it go, but after twenty years, science moves on, aand I got to go with it.
The A85 seems to be a jewel of a camera. I suppose everyone is happy with whatever choice they made. Hope so anyway. :D
If anyone has any questions about the A85, I'll be happy to attempt an answer, within the depth of my knowledge.

Is the Cybershot A85 similar to the Powershot A85 ?!
:P

Gee, that was a good first question.
Of course I meant Powershot A85.
Don't know what prompted me, to write that.
Anyway, I got a response.
By the way, I am having a lot of difficulty with this forum. Is there a problem?

No problems with the forum here.
Glad you're enjoying your A85. I had a tough choice, choosing between it's predecessor (the A80) and the IXUS400 when I was looking for a digicam last year.
Size and style (amongst other things) won out in the end so I ended up getting the IXUS, although I do miss some of the extra features that the A80 would have given me.
Ho hum. Can't complain about the IXUS though - it's a great camera !

Yes, I couldn't scroll before, but everything is fine now. Might just have been a glitch in my pc.
It took me a long time to come to a decision. The A85 won out on price, size, and capabilities. Its a little too large for some people, but I couldn't get my paws around the smaller ones. And after lugging the Minolta around this one seemed tiny.
Anyway, I am happy with it. :D
