The original canon one feels so cheap to me (from 30d). It's time for an upgrade. What do you use?

The POTN one (http://www.procameragear.com/potn/). Outstandingly comfortable, advertises the site, and helps support it as well. What more could you ask?

Yeah, me, too. Even have a spare one in case I get another camera. :)

That reminds me - I used up my spare a couple of years ago when I got the 5D - I need to order another one . . .

Now, make up your mind. Do you or don't you use one? Or were you saying that you have a POTN strap but don't use it?

I've also got an Optech Pro Strap, same as the POTN one. Bought it before I ever found this site.

I use an optech on the 5d and a POTN on the 1D. The Canon Straps are still in the plastic bags

I don't use one, all I have on the 20D is a Camdapter hand strap. (or at least I will when Christmas rolls around)

thespeakerbox,
The POTN strap is the one I use, its great and superior in comfort to the standard Canon strap. :)

Funny you should say that, seeing as how I just got a 30D this week and I LOVE the neckstrap compared to the one on the XT. I've even been considering picking up a 30D neck strap for my XT.

A "outsiders" fourm's strap, but when I get a 30 or 40D I will get a POTN strap. :D

Plain black optech one and I have the handgrip bit on there too. Had to bend the loop a little to get them to both fit.

the same old canon branded "domke gripper" that came with my 1n. doesn't get in the way :)

POTN strap because they are awesome. Black on my 300D, green on my 40D.

Before getting POTN straps I had trouble remembering which button took the pictures. Now I shoot for Playboy and National Geographic. At least I do when Sports Illustrated and Time magazine give me any time off.

So get a POTN strap and you could turn in to a world famous playboy just like me.

I use the one that has the shameful Canon advertising on it. I might upgrade to a POTN one, but I also want to get a Nikon one just because I have a canon, its a hard choice.

I agree, the Canon XT strap sucks.

Never used one for a long time, then started using the Canon one on my last trip. Makes changing lenses a bit easier.

I really want a camdapter thing, but they are too darn expensive

Small (not wide) generic Canon lens strap. Most camera straps are way too wide IMO. The slim Domke strap looks like a good alternative.

If I am using backpack I use the ThinkTank strap that has rings on it for clipping to the harness of the pack, much more comfy than a neckstrap.

I keep a handstrap on my camera at all times too.

For a neckstrap when using the camera alone, I have 2 POTN straps, one for each camera.

My only wish was that there was a quick release system to quickly change from one strap to another. Maybe there is one, but I just can't find it.

I started with the Canon 30D strap. Quickly switched to my old Minolta Maxxum 9 strap - much more comfortable. I recently purchased a Lowepro CompuTrekker Plus AW bag - I got a LowePro Transporter strap for free with purchase. I'm trying it now.

I am doubtful that the perfect camera strap exists. They're like bags, there is always another one to try.:)

OpTech Super Classic...for those who want comfort but do not want the bulkiness of the POTN version of OpTech, and who do not carry heavy cameras with battery grips and mount 300mm to 600mm lenses on it.

I never trusted the strap not slipping off my shoulder, I didn't like the feel of it around my neck, it was in the way when using a tripod and it wouldn't fit in the underwater housing. I took it off months ago and didn't put it back on. I just cary the camera in my right hand.

POTN for normal use and PacSafe Carrysafe strap when traveling.

I'd recommend considering a shoulder strap rather than a neck strap. When you are walking from point to point carrying your camera around your neck is not comfortable. Supporting a camera with a neck strap is really intended for just short periods where you need to free your hands.

When walking most photographers prefer to carry their cameras over their shoulder. The POTN/Optech strap are absolutely miserable for this purpose. While they provide nice cushion for comfort around your neck they also slide off your shoulder as you walk. You will be constantly readjusting your strap back up your shoulder and always feel like your camera will slip off and fall to the ground as you move briskly wearing it over your shoulder.

Someone already mentioned the UpStrap which will not move from your shoulder even if you run. It just grips and holds. When used as a neck strap it is not as comfortable as the POTN strap but is far more useful overall IMO.

I always have 2 cameras when I'm working. I just ordered a red POTN strap for my new 40D. Should be here within a week. Can't wait. I have one in every color now except black. :)

Exactely why I prefer a slimmer strap.

No experience whatsoever with the Upstrap, but doesn't the 'rubber pad' interfere when you also carry a bag over the same shoulder? (I have everything on my right shoulder when working ;))
