The only times I actually enjoy shooting images are at dusk, dawn, and most especially night. I feel as if though everything looks so plain and ordinary in day light, and you're always at the mercy of clouds which change your shot when they pass by, night time on the other had is a solid platform to work at.

"The good sun is all used up by 10 AM." - Me

I just hate the 10-2 period, and dislike 9-10 and 2-3. I love that low colorful sun, and I absolutely love being out at dawn when the world is quiet.

I do have to play with some night shooting sometime...

From the old TV show "Kung Fu" where the master says to the pupil: "If you can snatch the pebble from my hand, grasshopper..."

So... I want my pebble back.

It really depends on what i'm doing. For sports, i've gotten some of my best pictures around 1 o'clock becaues of the abundance of light, and i dont have to worry so much about where the sun is because it's pretty much "up".

If i'm shooting just about anything else, there is something that draws me to the light cast from the sun around 6 (that is 6 this time of year...it kind of changes).

It's just a nice golden yellow at a harsh angle and provides some cool shadows. Problem is i'm usually at work at this time staring out the window saying "I wish i had my camera".

Of course, at friday night football games any sun would be good to me :(

Hello

Im a night junky, I find something very challanging about useing long exposures through small apatures, and doing it all hand held.

The world seems to take on a whole new perspective after dark, shadows disapear from thier usual places, new sharper ones appear from un-natural lighting sources, and theres so much more stillness in the world.
Theres a whole change in atmostphere.
