Nahh go for it. We all do that when we get our newest gear. The trick is to get a cat, they make great test subjects :-).
The day i got my rebel i was taking photos of my girlfriend in the car on the way home from the store :-)

Ok I guess I'll post some in a little bit. I plan to snap some shots of the neighbor's dog later, he practically lives with us. I ALMOST got super duper lucky as there was a bear at the edge of my yard in the woods just a couple hours ago. I didn't see it but the neighbor did and the dog was barking at it.

Since I got my Drebel, my cats have resorted to wearing these --> 8)

If you want to shoot cats as test subjects, then you have to get three lined up in a row. One is white, one is 18% gray, and one is black.
Your mission is to get them all exposed correctly.

Does it count if I have one Orange cat, & one Black/White/Gray cat?

I had a 17% grey cat one time. You don't know how aggrevating it was when I found that out considering I had metered everything with the cat. I really thought it was 18%. At least that's what I paid for.

Just transferred 19 pictures to my computer using the USB cable. 14 were High Quality JPEG and 5 were RAW. All I have to say is WOW that took forever. It's sooo much faster using a card reader! (My computer has USB 2.0 too) Anyway I'll post some pics in a little bit.

As a matter of fact I have one of those too. With my crappy camera phone I got the whole model to take up the screen and it looks like the real thing. :)

If you have one Black/White/Gray cat, then you don't need the Orange cat at all unless you are going to try to use the Zone System.
