I was able to get away for a couple of hours yesterday to see how the new glass worked. Well......it's a monster. I don't think I'll be using it for many in flight shots unless I start working with a personal trainer.
The Af is fast, and I was pleased with the initial results from the few shots I made. I plan to spend Satuday at the wetlands to give the lens a good workout.
The duck-in-flight was handheld, the remaining two were made using a tripod and wimberley II head, with a 40D body.
As always, thanks for looking...tom

It's a great lens - nice first shots. I usually have mine on a Wimberley sidekick, except for rare occasions.

Congratulations Tom and sweet start. I'm sure you'll enjoy the heck out of the new lens. I know I would, but in the meantime I'll be keeping food on the table and a car in the garage. BUMMER :(
Congrats again!
