Hey all,
Just wanted to throw this question out to everyone after searching the forum I'm struggling to find a good technique to sharpen (if required) portraits and fashion work.
So my question is what technique/steps to do you use?

Just for web use or print? I use an additive approach to print, which supplements regular sharpening.

I use Focal Blade (Photoshop plugin, working on several editors - I have Serif PhotoPlus).

It has many controls, most notable the option to reduce/eliminate white and black halo. You can also switch between display and print intensity by clicking the appropriate button so as to get approximately the same effect on either medium from the resultant files. You can also apply different sharpening algorithms.

I usually feather select the eyes & lips, & might only sharpen them. Other times I apply less than the usual sharpening to the overall image, then resharpen the eyes. Other times... ;)
