Feeders have been very active the last couple of days as the winter storms approach the Virginia area. Amazing these creatures don't have CNN or the local weather stations but they sure know when to stock up on food.

Gary thanks. Your views and comments are much appreciated. First time shooting both the 20d and 40d with two lens set on the bodies. The 300/4 and the 100-400 gave me some nice choices on focal lenths on two bodies.

Very nice series of photos. The first bluebird pic is very nice, particularly because I've never seen that bird ...

It's the other way around, the local weatherman and the Weather Channel watch the birds to see whats going to happen. ;)

I've never seen a nuthatch on a feeder! They are always creeping up and down trees. All those shots are pretty darn good!

Thanks Mitch and glad to see you back posting. Shooting in RAW and the 40d's noise handling capabilties really help on the IQ, although I was happy with the 20ds output on the first shot.

LOL I think you're right on the weatherman watching the birds :)

Thanks Karen, you're comment and views are most welcome. The nuthatches love the variety of feeders we have, nugguts, sunflower etc and have even seen the Junco's who also ground feeders on the thistle, and nut and sunflower cakes so I guess they are all adapting to the food sources.

I really liked the first one. None around here, I don't think, I'm surprised every day.
