Whining on video on SD870 IS

Anyone else experienced the whining on the video? If I hold the camera up to my ear, I can hear the noise even when the camera isn't recording, almost like the screen makes a noise. Very strange. I'm trying to determine if this is normal before I exchange it by mail.
