a couple of bird on a wire

This morning I was trying out an old Canon 70-300 which I had borrowed. Unfortunately, I had forgotten to change my ISO from 1600 where it was last night, and a few other settings, so that the results came out overly bright. I worked on them on Elements etc. and came up with the following. Are they too bad?

First pic looks pretty usable to me. The second pic can be somewhat saved by reducing the noise in PS or using a noise-reducing program.
