This is a tougher decision than I thought it would be.

First Glance
Looking at the thumbnails it seemed that #1 might be best -- just because it carries the full height of the tower -- a sort if intellectual reaction. But when you enlarge the thumnail - AND VIEW AT THIS SMALL SCALE -- there is just no impact or mood that comes through. Perhaps that mood may come thru in prints > 8 x 10 inches

Final Pick AT THIS SCALE
Finally I picked #3. I did not do any analysis as there really are few photographic lines, or framing, etc that tie or strengthen the image. consider. In fact, it seems to me that the image gathers its strenght from the simple and repeated beauty of the flared lights. One forget that it is only a "half portrait" of the tower. These lights are larger in this image and add a magical, youthful mood to the image a tension as if one was waiting for a celebration to begin. Yes ... that is my pick

PS:
I loved your website. Your image titles are especially original -- and poetic too. Are you a poet?

PPS:
I have to "fess up". I took a pic of an indoor Xmas tree thru a "window". The tree was "crossed" by the window frame and the coloured lights twinkled like your here! Quite an effect.

Dear Howie,

Many thanks for your detailed and thoughtful answer. This is exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for. I also liked more number three, now I understand better why.

Thanks for your high appreciation of my pbase cite. No, I am not a poet in the sense that I never even tried to compose a poetry. I am mathematician in real life
