Does anyone know where you can get a replacement cap for the remote shutter release input?

I have an Elan 7 which needs selling and I figure saying its like new in box is significantly better than that's like new in box except that I've lost the little plastic thingy that fills the hole you put the remote into.

Not entirely off topic here since I'm sure the D30/60 uses the same one, though I imagine the 1D uses the bigger one that 1V and 3 use. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I lost mine, called Canon service and was sent 2 free of charge. Give them a call. D60 uses a different cover for the remote shutter release, it stays attached to the camera unlike the little easy to loose button cap on the D 30.

Canon remote switches have little spaces on the back of them for the exact purpose of putting your little remote switch cover thingie in while you're using the remote switch. Um....don't they?

Thanks, Calling Canon Service now... "If you would like to wait on the phone and listen to muzac, please press 3... If you would like to be transfered to a different menu which does not apply to you please press 4..." oh here's Tiffany...

$5.81 including shipping. I ordered it anyway.

I thought free was too good to be true, when did you get it free? What camera was it for?

I wonder if I had to pay because I was directed to Parts rather than to Service?

I am not sure how I lost mine. It isn't that easy to fall off but my best guess is that it was pulled off when I was taking either the camera or the remote out of a bag.

Would anyone like a "Like New" Elan 7? It has a brand-spanking-new shutter release remote terminal cap. Actually I truly have used it very little, it's been the backup to my 3, but my 3 hasn't needed a backup. I remember I have used it for a couple of casual events where I might need flash but didn't want to mess with a shoe flash.

for 3 remote shutter terminal caps from Canon parts counter for my
D30. The one that came w/the camera was very loose and wouldn't even stay in the remote switch holder. The new ones seem to be of much better quality and a tad larger. They do stay put.

It arrived yesterday. This tiny piece of plastic arrived in a box that you could fit a very large cat in. Anyone want a very large cat?
