ST-E2 + 580EX

Hi Guys
I bought the ST-E2 to use with my 580EX in order to do away with the off camera cord. No luck in getting it to work this far though. Is there some sort of trick to getting the flash to fire when using the ST-E2?
Any advice appreciated.

Have you switched the 580 into slave? Make sure it's on the same channel as the ST-E2 also.

STE2 will work on channels 1-4 and A/B
580EX will work on channels 1-4 and a/b/c.

Put both on channel 1, both as A and put the 580 as a slave.
