Not exactly the MSL but I like 'em. My four and a half year old, Shep, had six goals yesterday in a romp. I reckon the beauty of 21 mega pixels is being able to crop and not loose IQ. My guess is that I could also start sharpening a lot more than I have in the past with lesser bodies.

Sweet pics!

Sheesh, you got a 1Ds III too. I saw Mark (MDJAK) snagged one. Man, I'm on a wait list out here, but coming up empty so far :(

Don't hate your 30D, Michael! Love your 30D! It's a very capable camera.
And, btw, I took all of these in ONE SHOT mode (AI SERVO, though).

Nice work!

Frank, many thanks. I only wish the subject matter had greater mass appeal.

Thanks, Peter. Have you tried BeachCamera.com? My guy there, Rick, has come through for me on just about every new model. Good luck!

I only wish the subject matter had greater mass appeal. Bell curve? With 127,000+ members, no matter what you do, some will love it, someone will hate it, many will miss the point entirely, & some measurebaters should go out & spend more time shooting & less time talking about it? ;)

Thanks. I prefer a little more depth of field to be honest with you. I rarely shoot wide open unless I absolutely have to. And I figure with the 1Ds3 that ISO 400 shouldn't be a problem from a noise standpoint. And in fact I didn't need to apply any NR in PP. Perhaps I should have shot at f/4 and ISO 200 to isolate the subject a bit more.

even a 20 or 30d @ iso400 shouldn't be a problem... especially in bright daylight like that.

Those are great pic, even beound the details (what shutter, f stop, iso.. yadda yadda..)

Even is those were low res, form a P&S lacking real detail, there still great because of the comp. cough the kids smiling look up! perfect.

Thank you so much. The only problem with the P&shoots is the slow shutter response.

Great shots and the smiles made me smile. I wonder though - don't you have a big grin on your face with the 1ds and the 300 f/2.8? I would be ;)
