Took this one this morning (it was freezing) and its one of my favourites so far. Lighting was from my 430EX and if i remember rightly it was to the right of the lens. MP-E 65 and 30D.

Absolutely superb, allister. :-D They don't come any better than that. This is one of your best, IMHO. The flower is set beautifully in the drop. Thanks for sharing this with us.

How do you need to compose to get reflections/refractions like this through the drops?
And what distance is that flower?

Thanks sebastian, i placed the flower about 2 inches behind the dew drops. I then take the shots starting where the flower first comes into focus in the drop/drops and then carry on taking shots where the focous of the shot before ended eventually covering the whole subject. Then i use a program called combinezm to put them altogether to get the finished image.
Hope that explains it ok.

Yes, its stunning Alistair.
It seems that you and Brian are about level pegging now with this type of shot, but you do both have slightly different styles.
It would be a great, and fun, exercise if someone posted one of yours and one of Brians to see if we really could tell the difference as to who shot it lol.

Thanks Brian, Sometimes i wish i had a garden so i didnt have to travel to take shots all the time. Still hopefully house prices will come down:rolleyes:
