Hey guys, I'm so excited, I just got a new umm job that should hopefully help me pay myself through school and get me some new equipment.
Whats the job? a Car jockey at a local auto mall. So you ask, what's so special about that? Well the automall only has 3 dealerships. BMW/Mini , Porsche & Ferrari.
Talk about some nice photo ops hehe.
I cant wait for my first shift, I Feel like a 5 year old in a candy store. I get to deliver cars..............yipee.

PR:
You should offer to take a picture of the ceremonial passing of the keys when your new employer delivers a car to its new owner. Do it for your cost.....you'll still be taking pictures on company time and getting paid while you do it.

Waw, I think that's a brilliant idea. Try it P-R.
As a former car buyer (as a hobby  ) I can attest that the key delivery time is very special, so I bet the new owners would love that.

Ya that is a good idea, I think I will probably get some idea's together and when the time is right pitch them. Since the driving season is almost gone, I dont see too many Ferraris or Porsches moving off the lot, but definitly some of the x5's.
Belmondo that is a sweet idea, that and probably building a collection of me driving the Ferraris to impress the chicks lol.

But, when you show up on The Date in a Hyundai, that kinda gives it away...

P-R,
That sounds like such a sweet job. Congrats on getting it.
When I was your age, during the summer I loaded cases of cookies and cereal into semi's during the midnight shift at Nabisco. Aaarrgghh. Great pay but not quite as glamorous. It did help me get thru school though.

Lucky bastard, I think i have sent 40 resumes to camera places with no response, Humber wants me to have a camera/photography related job.
Evilenglishman, here in North America, there are these areas designated to auto dealerships that we call auto malls. It's usually several dealerships side buy side, where it makes it easy for car buyers to shop without driving from one place to another.
A car jockey moves cars around, drives cars from one dealership to another(usually when one dealership doesn't have a car they have just sold), washes cars etc etc. To break it down, if a car need to be driven, a car jockey does it.

I was lucky in that my girlfriend already works there, she'll have ot show me around the dark room some day 8).
It's not all it seems though, they asked me if i'd shoot some sporting events for them.
"Great, yeah!"
"You'd have to use our cameras"
"oh..."
"The nikons"
"oh..."
I'm gonna tell em that i fi cant use my sheet then i aint gonna give em any pics. If they wana buy 'em off of me then fine, but i'm not gonna use there nikon film cameras. I just dont see the point
(especially with my new purchase)

TQ,
That doesn't seem like a really good way to start a new job, especially since you don't start till Monday. A thought was to maybe use their gear for a while then introduce your new camera/gear and show them the difference, especially since you now have better stuff.
Just a way to get in good w/ your new employer, yet not piss him off right off the bat. I agree you have better gear but you have to know how to work it. I think you'll get further that way.
Just trying to help.

We are waaaaaay off of the subject here. I appreciate PR in explaining his new job, which is a really cool one. I hope to see some of his pics of the really cool cars soon and I envy him on his new job.
I'd really like to see some of the cars PR will be driving around. Please post some pics.

Anyone,
Can a moderator please step in here? I've been trying to give constructive advice to the best of my ability here and 'stuff' keeps getting sent back. I'm sorry if I give advice that is not appreciated. I am a newbie to this forum but am simply trying to learn and give advice as I see it (rookie advice on photography, but not on common sense).
I don't really care to get into personal information about anyone unless it is either informative or is in fun and I really don't appreciate the negativity seen here.
Please advise me if I am not using the right terminology and please let me know the subject of this forum.
Sorry for venting.

Hi Dan, how are you today
TQ might share some personal information here from now and then, but that's ok if you ask me. He is a really nice guy. I'm on the other hand said few things that I feel stupid for saying them.
This is a relatively a small forum and it seems people know each well, even at the personal level sometimes.
Don't know what's my point, but thought to share some ideas about the subject.

aam1234,
I agree w/ you that people have things to share w/ others. I do to. I just try to focus my thoughts on this forum towards constructive ways on how to photograph better, or how to share photos better, or whatever.
I realize people are different and I guess people look at this forum differently.... as well they should. I'm sorry I gave my opinion.... like I said I was venting, as I am an individual too.
I will still try to make jokes on this forum and listen to the very smart people who educate me on a daily basis.
I'm sorry for venting over something that does not affect me. Just being a human.

I agree with you Dan. When I first joined here, I noticed that some posts are just a bit too personal. But if one hangs around here for a while, he/she won't mind that at all. As a matter of fact, it's a sign of a friendly place if you ask me.

I agree
Thing is, when you start becoming a regular here, it sort of becomes your online group of buddies, you like to talk and well just socialize, which is what I think the general forum should be all about. You talk about camera's all day, you need to stray from it once in a while.
Cheers.

I do agree w/ you guys/gals (no offense to anyone else :) ). I do agree w/ everyone here and that is why I read this everyday. It is really cool to read this forum everyday and hear what everyone has to say (for the most part). I do socialize w/ you guys/gals (no joke there) like PR says and it is really cool to share ideas w/ everyone.
Sorry I made a bid deal out of nothing.
Are you my therapy group? :D

ahhh, I could never do that job. The temptation to steal would be too great - that or impressing ladies with my new motor :D
