The Leader of the Band

Dan Fogelberg died this morning in Maine. The only song I knew was the Leader of the Band song written about his father who had been a bandleader. I guess he died of advanced protstate cancer. After he'd been diagnosed, he said that all men should be screened for this. I went to his site and read that he had an interest in painting and photography and hoped to return to doing it soon. Sadly, looks like he didn't get the time.

I'm sorry to hear this too. Leader of the band was one of his hits as was Longer and Same Old Lang Syne.

Dan Fogelberg was a great guy and a very talented musician. He will be sorely missed.
