samples! side note, i suppose without practice it appears a bit soft at 5X?
anyway, first one is 1X, 3X, and 5X of a lens cap, second is the image stabilizer logo, and third is the AF mark on my 24-105 F4L.

Congrats, you will love it. Generally shoot around f5.6 - 6.3 at x5 and focus stack if the subject allows that.

Congrats on the lens :)- excellent lens.
As Alistair says high mag shots are a bit of juggling act between DOF and diffraction softening. If you want to maintain the sharpness you see at 1:1 around F11 then you need to open the aperture progressively such that at 5:1 you are around F5. If you want to maintain DOF at high mag then stay around F8-F11.
