Wedding in village. Lithuania, summer 2007.
http://meninenuotrauka.lt/gallery/diana_vidmantas/
I wish to show one of not absolutely usual us of the shot weddings.
All action happened in the Lithuanian village. Far from from cities. There were no limousines, any expensive clothes, any grandiosity. A way from the house up to a church and from it up to restaurant - on foot... It seemed to All of us very simple and very lovely. The aura of silent pleasure soared.
I do not know, on how many to us it managed to be reflected in photos. It would be interesting to find out opinion of community.
Thanks

Aleksandras, so good to see your work again. Consistent, highest quality performance. Those bw at the end (boat and second version of the "Street" photo) are just killers. It seems that you have one/two "signature" shot with the bride at each wedding. Really nice man. Also each time I am astonished how You manage to get such a clean look with high iso pictures. I know you shoot 1.4 but i had d200 for a while and just can't imagine getting such a clean look at those conditions. You mentioned monopod once, how low do You get with shutter times ?

Thanks, very pleasantly. Yes, we shoot as a rule with the open apertures. ISO we lift often up to 800. Sometimes and up to 1600. But with D200 it is not problemless. This Никон is inclined to rustle on such ISO. The Fact of common knowledge, unfortunately. Therefore a monopod in church almost always I use. And a scene I try to select such on which noise is less shown. I do not know as there it will turn out in a reality, but very much I hope, that new Nikon will allow to not drag, at last, with myself this "stick". :D Though, short of excessive noises on high ISO, D200 - the excellent device. In the class, certainly.

well from what i see D3 would be THE perfect camera for You with fully usable 3200 and ok 6400. You can leave the "stick" at home and enjoy shooting so much more. What would be the price of that baby in Lithuania in $ by the way? I am pretty sure they are trying to rape You guys there price wise every possible way.

Yes, discrimination of the European buyers absolutely not accessible to my understanding. Besides as it was found out, on a camera purchased in America guarantee certificates do not extend!
In any case, many thanks for understanding and support. :)

Aleksandras,
Looking through your work on your website, you have no need for a D3, i am sure even if you used point -shoot camera and would still get superb images.
Is all to do with knowing how to use your equipment and have an eye for a good shot and for sure you know how to get the best out of both of them.
Is a pleasure looking through your images, many thanks for posting a link

What do you do if it is very dark when you shoot if you dont use flash

In our complete set of the equipment there is a flash. And not one. However, we very much do not like to use flash. Really it happens only then, if ISO is lifted up to a maximum (at us on D200 it, actually, 1600) and all the same light not enough. Outside of rooms never we use flash. Particularly on this wedding, flash was absolutely jobless.:D

I'm very impressed with your work. Your images all seem to tell a story all on their own. And your color seems to always be perfect. Are Nikon cameras really that much better at AWB, or are you using custom WB profiles?

Thanks. I always shoot in RAW(NEF). Then, at converting, I adjust}color tone usually a little.
