G'day ladies and gents!

This is a shot of my nephew which I took at Father's Day dinner last week (yes Down Under Father's day does come in September). It was family ocassion and a first one for my brother-in-law.

I just need opinion on the colours and possible post-processing. I deliberatly shot at wide aperature and underexposed it as to not blow out the highlights with the flash. It hasn't really been processed apart from raw conversion in Adobe CS with temp at 5500K and addition of exposure to lighten the image (all images came out considerably underexposed despite the LCD monitor showing otherwise. I'll trust the histogram next time).

Do the colours look natural or is it too warm? Should I crop the hand at the bottom of the pic out?

I'd be tempted to crop so that you just see the tip of his sleeve on the right hand side (basically concentrate on your nephew's face and hands).

Colour looks fine to these eyes.

Color looks good. There seems to be a bit of noise in the background colors. I'd be tempted to try and hide the scratch on his cheek, but overall the color is quite good, very natural.

Personally, I like the composition as is. It may seem crouded if you pull the right side in too tight.

Thanks for the replies.

NH> I tried to run the image the NeatImage with default loadout for Canon G2 at 50 ISO and it did not seem to find much of the background noise despite visually it being there. I may just up it a little to see if ISO100 or ISO200 will pick up that noise on the background. I'll try running through NoiseNinja as well as in the past when I tried it it seemed to pick noise more agressivly. I also may try various crops to see if any make it a better stand out. As far as a scratch I'll see what his mother's wants done first. Aparently he just took a nosedive yesterday so he is looking much worst for wear  And he ain't too happy about that.
