I'm in the same boat. I'm looking into part-time photography, specifically, sports shots at the little league and high-school level. One of my many questions is where to get my pics developed and where to order the order forms.

Develop? As in film?

If you're talking about film, I do it in the darkroom.
If you mean printing digital, I get done at a local place that sells darkroom supplies and other photography related stuff, they work on calibrated monitors and produce very consistently good prints.

I usually use Adorama.com for most of my prints. Pretty fast turn around and not bad prices. The more you order, the better the price.
For a little better quality print and some different types of prints I use Mpix.com

When I sell through my Zenfolio account I use MPix, they are fantastic. When printing for myself I go to Costco. Great prices and good quality prints.

For my personal work or anything that real important and I don't have allot to make on my epson 2200. Anything that need large quantities I have a professional lab I use.

Sadly, Ritz. Mine has a very nice 8x10 machine and then 4x6's and 5x7's are cheap anihow. But if we're talking business affiliated shoots then a local print shop. Cheaper price for the mass amount of pictures.

Gosh, makes me wish I had a costco near by.
I ordered christmas gifts from snapfish and found them to be darker than what I though I sent them... but then again I don't have a calibrated monitor to view on so maybe they were dark to begin with :?
I'll have to look into mpix for stuff in the future though - thanks for the heads up!

I have never used them, but there is a Costco on Rt. 1 in Dedham. It's about a 30 minute drive from Northern, RI. Costco does a lot online and you could probably do it that way if that is your choice.

For 4x6 I use my Canon Selphy printer. For everything else I use the print service through Smugmug.
