View Full Version : HELP! Is there a easy way to center a picture?

I need to put a black border around 25 5x7 pictures from an employee Christmas party and I am just wondering if there is an easier way to do this.

How can I center an image on a new canvas in Photoshop (CS2) quickly? Is there a way? Or do I have to eyeball it or use the grid?

Or when I crop the picture out to put the border on it that way ... is there an easy way to make sure all my sides are even?

I have done research and I can't find an answer ...

click on Image, Canvas Size, make sure that "Relative is checked and "Anchor" is at center. Enter 1" or 2" for both height and width (this all depends on you) Choose the canvas color, then click on OK.

SO flippin simple and I could NOT find anything on that.

Sorry but this project has been so tedious and no fun and I am ready to pull my hair out with this client but hey I need to please them. I am a newbie yes and I am learning a lot! (Like ... I think I will be too busy next year to accept this client. ;))

glad i could help! all you have to do now is to make it an "Action" and automate it on the rest of the pictures! :D

I made the action, now all you have to do is setup the batch.

Done and it took me like 5 minutes to do 25 pictures ... sweet. :)

I also have an action that can center any layer in a picture - if needed!?
