I have my little brother's wedding rehearsal/dinner tonight. (BTW, I am in the wedding)

His Wedding Photographer will not be attending tonight's event, just at "The Show" tomorrow, and my brother would like me to take pictures now. I was planning on just taking some candids, that is, until I heard the hired gun is not attneding, and now I will be the main photographer.

I just have a couple of questions for whomever decides to read this:

1) Anyone have Rehearsal/dinner galleries for me to gain some inspiration from?

2) Any quickie Do(s)/Don't(s) for this type of photography?

3) See sig... Is the 18-55 the best choice?

4) Why did I just get real nervous all of a sudden?

Thanks gang!

For the most part, they are all candid shots. Shoot like you would for any other party. Watch out for speeches and toasts, and be prepared to snap.

Use a nice zoom lense for convenience (you propably won't need much for distance)

Bounce flash for most places works really well.

Trust me, any clear photos that they get from this event will be appreciated.

Remember. . . these are not formals. Take it easy and have fun.

As Harry said, relax and have fun. Look for the surprise shots that nobody knows you have taken as those are the most appreciated by the bride and groom. Keep your eyes open and you will capture some magic moments. Good luck, you will do great.
