Do the prices drop after New Years in the US? I'm planning to visit the US and come back with either a 10D or a 20D, when would be the best tmie to pick one up over there, before of after New Years?

I dont think the 20D is going to drop in price for 6-7 months honestly. If you need one now, just get it now. That would be my opinion.

It probably won't make much different on something like a camera body. Certain retail prices will fall after the holidays, especially on items that didn't sell as well as retailers had hoped. Photo equipment doesn't really fall into that category, and I seriously doubt any camera dealer that already discounts (B&H and that ilk) will be having any 'after-Christmas' sales. I also think you can forget about finding any 10Ds still on the shelf by January.

The introduction of the 20D will drive the prices of other bodies down, especially the 10D. How much of a drop, I don't know, I guess it all depends on how well they sell.

I remember when the G5 was introduced, the G3 dropped in price drastically.

BUT!!! When the G5 fianlly hit the shelves (with the PF problems etc..), the prices for the G3 went back up!!! More demand and less supply I guess.

The 10D prices are at an all time low.........get it while its hot.
