I was wondering if these rolls of paper would work as backgrounds? They are rather cheap and come in very big sizes.

48" isn't very wide. Beside that, why not?

Maybe you can get two and put them together? It would still be cheaper right?

The point is that a seamless roll is - seamless. If you don't mind seams, you could glue a few dozen sheets of 8.5x11 together.

There's no reason why you can't do tight head shots and portraits against a 48" width. Also, if need a wide shot and not a long one you can just cut off 8 or 10 feet and turn it sideways, giving you a 10 ft. x 4 ft. background.

For the price of 2 plus a couple of dollers I can get a 9ft wide roll at my local photo store.
