Beautiful shot.

I don't think you will be breaking anyone's heart if you crop some off at the right.

Congratulations!

Superb shot. And - though it makes me nervous to take a view contrary to Bob - I must say I like the framing, as it keeps the foreground/background divide on a line of thirds, there is enough luminance contrast to highlight the foreground properly, and you've got a really nice, rich, leafy background blur. I'm wondering about the plant in the centre at the top though - there's enough of it to catch my attention, but not enough to satisfy my curiousity....

Cheers,

Tony

Dear Tony,

Never compromise with your own taste or judgement.

Thanks Bob :-).

I've definitely come to appreciate the value of educating taste and judgement though, through your posts and those of many others. It's remarkable how I can see a photo - my own or another's - perceive it in a particular way, and then have those perceptions challenged and expanded by alternatives. Good to know what may be an issue for some subset of viewers, why, and what the trade offs are. For example, some framing that's seen as edgy to some will be annoying to others. Anyway, am enjoying the learning experience, and thanks to all for the enlightening critiques.

Cheers,

Tony
