Thanks Bromm. They are nothing on yours, but he's cute.
Hi Lawrie B, I'm from Toowoomba in QLD. Sorry, should have introduced myself. :D
My name is Sam and I have been into photography for about 5 years now, and have only recently purchased my 400D and a few lenses. I enjoy photography as a hobby more than anything. I have been flying around the forum looking for different techniques and little things that I can pick up, and look forward to being on here for a long time to come. :)

Welcome to the bird forum Sam! I am not a pro but have learned many skills from other photographers here. You've captured this bird with good sharpness and nice details. Perhaps you can use your 430ex as a fill flash. It will bring out the details nicely, or, use Photoshop or whatever your processing software you're using to bright up and use shadows/highlights! Looking forward to you future posts!
