I witnessed the most amazing sunset I have ever seen tonight. The sky looked like it was on fire. I am posting an un-edited photo to show you what I saw and please note that this is not saturated. I didn't even straighten my horizon. I was totally in awe. This was taken tonight at 5:46pm on Honeymoon Island in Florida using a 24-105L IS. Thank you for looking :)

No wonder your horizon wasn't straight, you must have been completely overwhelmed by the spectacle before you.
The nearest I have to that is a pre-dawn shot I took last year through my bedroom window. No pp other than resizing.

Many people have a 'you've seen one, you've seen them all' feeling about sunrises and sunsets.
Not me. That is a wonderful shot.

Ray,
Nice capture. When I seen the thread title "Fire in the Sky" I thought I would be looking at a shot of the sky out west during their fires. Although it wasn't what I expected, I wasn't disappointed. Red sky at night, sailor's delight. You must of had a special feeling going through you as you were taking this all in. I could go on but I'm trying to stay under the 100 word limit. Thanks for sharing.

And this is why I just bought myself a G9. You never know when you'll come across a "by-golly!" scene. I carry a small backpack almost everywhere I go and I'm tired of having to say, "Shucks!" Or worse...
Terrific photos here.

We get a lot of pretty morning and evening skies in this part of Scotland, but I think the most amazing sunset I ever saw was at Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia back in in August 2001. My friend, Anne, captured it perfectly with her little Olympus Trip that she's had forever. The colours were simply incredible.
