Central California Get Together

It has been a few months since the BBQ at Dwights house, and I'm starting to think we need to have another get together again. I was thinking Yosemite, Monterey, or Cambria (our Cambria get together last time went well I thought)

Anyway...I was thinking sometime in early February?

I know Maureen leaves in March for 2 weeks in Italy, and unfortunately, I don't think we can all make it that far :)

So lets here some ideas guys and get the ball rolling!

Early February could be problematic for Yosemite. That's kind of early in the year, and there will still be snow. Chains could be required just to get there.

Good point Lonnie! I wasn't thinking about that. Any other ideas for a meet?

The desert is good that time of year, but it's not that convenient for the Northern/Central California Members. It would sure be great for me, though.:lol:

heh I think Cambria is pretty much in the middle of most people...maybe Santa Barbara...It is about a 3.25 hr drive for me to that area (5 for Santa Barbara) and its about that long coming from most places down south...I think we need more people to chime in :)

We have a trip planned near Pismo, Oceanna I believe, in the near future I dont know what weekend . My wife wants to see Hearst Castle that weekend also

Mostly we just go places where we can eat.

I thought it wouldv'e been more based upon picturesque "stuff" to do. Either way , I should be able to make it.

Some of them we take pictures...the one in Cambria a couple years ago we photographed the elephant seals in San Simeon, and some people went to Hearst Castle. There was also one at lake San Antonio which offered eagle tours, and another one with whale watching in Santa Barbara...but then we usually eat either at a restaurant or in the case of the last one a members house. Belmondo usually has his gear which makes most of us look bad, and in some cases there is some trading going on. But usually it is just a bunch of fun. :)
