I am in Eastern Canada, and I read that these gels are basically free....

How can I get a set of them? Do i have to order something else and get them sent along with the shipment? Just curious, Thanks!

I don't know if they ship to Canada, but if you go to their website and navigate around, somewhere there should be a form to fill out to get a free swatchbook. BH also sells them for a penny I think? But you have to pay for shipping.

However, I've heard of people not getting their swatchbooks even after filling out the form. To make sure you get it, look up a contact email address for the person responsible for sending out samples and confirm that your request made it through. I had to bug them a couple times before they finally sent it.

It's possible that a local photo store may have free books available.

B&H will ship to Canada, I got tonnes of stuff from them, but I think they mean Rosco shipping to Canada.
I just found the form and I filled it out! Hopefully I see this swatchbook in the mailbox!

Thanks for the link. I'll try again. My first two requests have gone unanswered.

Interestingly after bugging them about four times for a month, they actually sent me two inadvertantly. The 2nd package was shipped using 3 day shipping and arrived just a couple days after the 1st package.

I just walked in to the local theatre lighting store and asked if they had any. No postage, just walked out with it.

Same here. Sent for them about a year ago. Took almost four months to get them - worth the wait.

I just got my swatchbook today. Its huge! I ordered it about a month ago. It was free. I can use these in front of my 430. Awsome!

A quick follow-up. The Brown truck just delivered my ROSCO gell sample pack. Seems things move slowly at ROSCO, or maybe demand is high for the sample packs. I had to make several requests, but they finally shipped a pack to me...and yes, it was free.

Now, if only I can figure out what to do with them. (I'm partially color blind!)

No, you will wind up paying the base shipping cost, but you do not have to order anything else to place an order. I buy all of my camera needs from B&H and am a regular customer with them. As a matter of fact I ordered some today. I asked to be notified when they were back in stock and received the e-mail advising me that they were in, so I ordered them. There are a lot of people interested in them so you have to be quick, but that is okay. I ordered some from Rosco as well just to be safe.
