I am looking into buying the 430EX for my Rebel XTi...
and I was just wondering if when I am using this flash, will the camera still be "busy" after about 3-4 shots? So I can't take pictures for 5 seconds, every 3-4 shots using flash? If so... wow... lol thats going to be a pain,
Anyway I can maybe speed this up? Or fix this??
Is it just because the camera senses too much heat from the flash?? Or is it just because it's a 'noob' camera?

The flash takes time to recharge, so it can flash again. The XTi isn't a noob camera, and the camera isn't sensing too much heat. Get a set of good rechargeable batteries and you will get a good recharge time.

So with the 430EX and good batteries or w\e... I can take shots much faster then with the on camera flash?
AWESOME! I was not expecting that answer... What are some batteries you recommend??

In ETTL, not shooting at full power I can get up to 10 shots in a burst without waiting for recharge. When it needs to recharge you can still shoot, but without flash until it charges up again.
I use Energiser 2700Mah Rechargeables in mine.

Sorry for the sad question, but... what is ETTL? I have seen it talked about allot, but I haven't figured out what it is\stands for

Electronic Through The Lens metering. Its OK that you don't know what it is, alot of people don't!
It basically uses distance data from the lens and focus point to determine the flash exposure and power.

what is ETTL?Actually it's "evaluative through the lens". It's the flash metering system used by Canon digital cameras. The current version (E-TTL II) does not incorporate the AF pooint in any way, and uses distance data only with the lenses that report it.
The EOS Flash Bible (link in my sig) has lots of information about Canon's various flash metering systems.

Thank you Curtis. I didn't know that. :D I will add it to my memory of acronyms.
