I have my 580 and my 2 430's as slaves, on my camera should I use the automatice white balance...or is their a manual override for Canon Flashes..5500???

If you use Flash WB or Auto WB, the camera will use color temperature information from the flash on the hotshoe to determine the white balance.
If you find this inaccurate, you can set a custom white balance (the instruction manual describes how), or use the "K" white balance and set the color temperature in the camera menu, or shoot RAW and adjust the color temperature later.

You can also shoot a grey card if you have one and shoot in raw. That way you have reference and can change WB later very easily
