720IS vs 570IS

Am trying to decide between these two cameras. Both are nice. 570 is a little smaller/more pocketable. 720 has longer zoom. What concerns me is the reports of long lag times for the 720 in flash mode. Anyone have any comments on this. What about the lag time without the flash. Is the lag time without flash equal on these cameras? How about the time from when the shutter is pressed to the actual taking of the picture?

I think they both would suffer the same fate in charging rate while using flash.

Both cameras will be slower in such case due to being run on two (2) AA batteries.
