LP-E4; I might have gotten a knock off.

My mom bought a LP-E4 battery from ebay (because she wants me to have an extra battery for when I go to Antarctica) and she's now paranoid that it'll burn up my charger.
On the box it has a green ring around the bottom, and that's the only thing I really noticed, everything else looks fine though.
But yeah, any help?

Do you notice anything different on the battery itself?

Mine has green around 3 sides on the bottom as well. It's okay. It's perfectly fine.

Take a photo of the actual battery for us to see.... To ensure its not a knock off.

I am not sure the 3rd party companies have designed a replacement yet, have they? I was hoping somebody like Accstation or Eforcity would have something.

Perhaps they are having difficulty building a battery that works nearly as well as the Canon.

It will require extensive reverse-engineering, due to the electronics found in this new battery, like the meter and the recharge capabilities of the battery.

Too bad, I don't really want to spend $120 for a new battery, I always love having at least one backup, even if this one is good for 2000 shots. They will show up though, given enough time.
