I am shooting a wedding on the 29th and visited the church yesterday to take a look around. The good news is that it is very well lit. The bad news is that the reason it is so well lit is a complete wall of sun filled glass windows behind where the Bride and her father will be coming down the aisle. I am planning on shooting this as a portrait with the sun behind the subject metering for the windowlight and with fill flash at about -1 1/3 compensation. Any other ideas??

Perfect silhouette opportunity.

At -1 1/3 FEC, you'll get a decent silhouette - not great, but good. I would think that something closer to -1/3 -> -2/3 would be a better choice for fill light.
If you want a good silhouette, use no flash at all....
YMMV

Not really looking for a silhouette shot. I'm going to try to get there a little early and take a couple of test shots. The windows face the South, so a lot will depend on how much sun is out that day. This time of year in Ohio the sun is more towards the South. It is a 2:00 wedding, so it will be an issue.

You could meter the proper exposure for the subjects, use a reflector on them and let the window and background blow out. That way you could get great soft light without flash on the bride and her dad, great hair and veil highlights to create a high key portrait...

Two options:
1. If you do not want to blow out the windows, then set to M and meter the windows. Then leave your flash set to ETTL with maybe even +2/3 FEC and shoot.
2. Blow out the windows by setting to M and metering someone sitting near the isle. Then use your flash to fill by setting -2/3 to -1 FEC. This would be my preference so that sny distracting elements outside the church don't show up.
