A new user and novice:

I need advice and guidance in moving\burning? the movie clips taken (according to owner's manual) in AVI/Motion JPEGS to a DVD to play on a stand alone Sony DVD player to view on television. I use MS Digital Image Pro for still shots and am very pleased with the results for my needs. But I am totally in the dark concerning movie clips. I have ZoomBrowse Ex w/Quicktime and Windows Movie Maker but they apparently cannot perform the operations I am seeking. Can anyone offer any guidance in this area? If you can please keep it basic and as simple as possible for a grandpa who wants to watch clips of his grandchildren

I appreciate and thank you for your assistance,

Bill (BB)

Hi BB,

My experience with video is very basic.

When I want to save a motion picture file so that it can be shown on any standard DVD / VCD player, I use the software that came with my CD / DVD burner.

In my case it's called NERO. There is a "Photo and Video" option under one of the menus. After I choose it I am prompted to select the file I want to convert. All I have to do next is make sure a blank CD or DVD is in my burner. Then when I click "OK" the file is automatically converted before it is burned. When the burning is finished I'm ready to pop the disc into my DVD player and hit play.

I suggest first checking the software that came with your CD / DVD drive. If your current software doesn't have this feature, perhaps have a look at the "NERO" software:

I'm not sure if NERO is the best alternative for your needs, there may be a cheaper more straight forward package out there. Perhaps someone on here will offer some better suggestions.
