Hi Gu,
I wish someone would buy me a 20D    !
Other than that I'll probably get there for around 11am (supposed to be at work for 12 but I'll take some time due) - I'll be the one in the white shirt, black trousers and shoes, blue top, and 6' 4", and - pretty much like a cop actually! Oh yes, and I'll probably be holding a handkerchief to my mouth to catch the drool looking at al that kit! :P
See you there?

No probs - just think of the extra money you'll be getting from the courts!

well, fast lens for fast action ... with no accreditation for this weekend, i'm gonna be home watching them on telly(apparently fax sent out too late  )
never mind ... still got the case going which means i won't be able to try out the 20D ...
Barry, please let us know what you think and how it performs, cheers!

Well I went and to be honest found it rather disappointing - only one Canon rep, no brochures/documentation, one printer, one video camera, two pairs of binoculars, and (the best bit) 4 D-SLRs to handle: -
1DS,
20D,
300D,
1D Mk 2
accompanied by 300mm f2.8, 28-300, 16-35 lenses. As it was being held in the largest pro-dealership in the north of the UK, I expected Canon UK to have put on a better show than the above.
I still drooled over the 1D Mk2 with the 300 f2.8 (not as heavy as I thought it would have been) and the 1DS with the 28-300. As for the 20D, I can't justify the cost of the upgrade, particularly as I am happy with my kit to date - however when I retire in either just over 3 or just under 6 years time, that'll be another story.

well, i didn't expect Canon presentation would be this poor, but i would love to play with 20D and 1D MK II with 300mm f2.8.
for some reason, i'm not convinced about 20D, if i ever upgrade, it'll be 1D MK II for sure.
did you take any photos?

No! The whole thing was held at the front of one of those little side-rooms (not even the whole side-room) - I only stayed for about 30 mins, then got talking to an ex-GMP cop turned pro-photographer outside.

man that sucks ...
how was your chat with the ex-officer then? sounds more interesting than the "Canon Show", any thoughts on switch career?
