I have a Canon Digital Camcorder. I am trying to find software that will record the videos at a higher resolution that what I have. I have both Muvee Autoproducer and MyDVD, which is bundled into the Roxio software. Both will only record from the Camcorder at 720 X 480. Not very high resolution for transferring to DVD. I know the Camcorder is capable of higher resolution since when I connect it directly to the TV it looks find. What is the best video editing program I can use?

Thanks

NTSC Video resolution is 752x486 (with overscan), so your camcorder is probably shooting at the native resolution, unless your camera is an HD model (recording in 720P or 1080i).

the software you are using may be compressing the video too much causing it to look grainy and not as sharp as you see watching the camera straight on the TV.

I use Adobe Premiere Pro to capture and edit my videos using Firewire and then using Adobe Encore to make the DVD.

Thanks I will check these out. It must be compressing it because it looks great on the tape and also in the small box on the computer, but not on the DVD.
