You don't ge the entire picture! 100mm Macro underwater in Mazatlan trying to get a shot of a scallop...

About 20 foot down, leeward of Wolf Island in surge and 5-10 foot viz...

A wee bit more of a challenge than your typical butterfly shot...:)

Oh, and a shot of the rig I used (this was taken after I recovered it from the bottom of Lake Lanier after 8 weeks of submergence at 50 feet.)

My rig...I was doing some shots of what I call "The forgotten forest" when it came unclipped from my dive harness...only took 8 weeks and 14 dives to find it...

Was There Any Damage Done To The Camera?

Nope, it was dry as a bone, in fact there was still enough charge in the battery to take a picture of my wife. The strobes were totally dead charge wise, but with new batteries fired right up. Over all I was very pleased with the housing and the strobes and the way it protected the camera.

Shot of back of housing showing dry camera inside...

You should be contacting the manufacturers of the housing with that story. They would love that from publicity point of view.

8 weeks under water and dry and working still. That is a great story.

Ikelite. www.ikelite.com. Got it from www.reefphoto.com as a package, the housing, one port and a strobe and delux ball arm for $1900.00 then added the second strobe and a couple of other ports. A really flexible solution. You can shoot macro the first dive, then go to a standard lens/port for the second and back to a macro for the third.

scallop shot looks a touch overexposed and doesn't reallly grab me. However what an amazing story re the waterproof housing, I wonder if a Volvo car would start first time after 8 weeks under water - probably.
