All I did with this shot is crop and sharpen a touch.

Colin:
Wonderful shot.
Everything seems integrated here. Related monochomatic color tints and tones. Great exposure and framing. Subtle left-right motion. Interesting composition, shapes, lines and textures.
But best of all the subject sits there naturally and almost talks to you. Nothing is forced here.
Bravo.

Terrific! Maybe tighten up the contrast using "levels" in PS but otherwise super. I gotta remember to start bringing my camera with me wherever I go.

I coulda sworn that you only had the skull there when I looked... the skates are nice, too, although I think the contrast looks a bit "dim." Levels adjustment should do the trick.

Yessir, the skates were there. Anyway I lightened the picture up a bit as you said and despeckled some. It isn't quite as I would have liked it but but still ok.
The skull was a bit of a surprise because it didn't seem like a big deal when I shot it but after the download I thought "Wow" I like this! I played with the contrast a bit in PS but didn't save it. I haven't decided what I like better.

Hi Colin. Looking at the skull again, I no longer think it needs the contrast boost. It has sort of an antique feel to it as it is - appropriate, given your shooting location. (Then again, maybe just a tiny tiny bit...)
It's fun when shots you didn't have high hopes for turn out to be keepers, eh?
Cheers,

Hey there Colin,
Love the subdued colors in your cropped shot. Makes it look aged and somber, which works perfectly with the subject matter. Nice job!

Is anyone seeing what I'm seeing with my last post? It's blacked out.
Thanx on the skull comments. I'm real happy with that one.

Yes. (But I can highlight your hidden message by holding down my mouse button and scrolling over it.)
Now THAT is something that needs a little more contrast, Colin!
