Nice pictures jimjam! I like the second one better, but can't give you a better critique because they are so small.

I like both ... 8)

as ControlZ suggested, the second might benefit from leveling.

Best regards,
Andy

If you look at the tree line behind the train it is level. The reason for the angle is the slope of the grade on the curve. :)

better but the 2nd is still leaning to the right :D

As c0ntr0lz said, it leans slightly and it kills it for me.

Can you use PS and maybe reangle the photo in an uncropped state?

Otherwise I love it.

Yes but as I said before if you look at the tree line behind the train you will see that the picture is infact level and grade that the train is on gives it a lean because it is going into a turn.

jimjam,

I like the steam locomotive photos you posted.

The second one is the best in my opinion.

One possible improvement would be to include more of the train to show the curve. That way, people viewing the photo would get the picture that the curve is banked, which explains the "tipped" locomotive.

Still, it's a great shot.

I like the second one, though it is leaning. The first has a truck at the crossing plus 2 workers in the engine with orange vests on.

Dang Jim, I almost missed this!
These are BOTH great, I kind of like the first one a skosh more due to the fact that we almost NEVER see the Engine from this angle. I also like seeing the Engineer/Fireman. I wish He was wearing more authentic clothing though, as that would have made these photos PERFECT! :D :D :D

Thanks Ballen.I just wish I would have captured more of the tail end of the train on the second shot like sailor don said.
