Hi guys my first snap using my sd850.C& C welcome.

Certainly looks delicious! I think you need more depth of field, though. Your area of focus is very shallow and only includes a bit of the cake and the stem of the cherry. Ideally, you'd have the whole cherry and at least half the cake in the depth of field.

DOF problems are usually due to not having enough light, so if you are shooting in auto try adding some light and maybe putting it in "Landscape Mode" (the icon that looks like a mountain).

If you're shooting in Manual or semi-manual, then what you need is a larger NUMBER for your aperture -like f/16 rather than, say, f/4.

Other than that your setup and subject look really REALLY good ;-)
