I'm not paying anything extra for my camera insurance. I have $250.00 deductible that covers any loss (over $250.00) that is included with my homeowners insurance. I've checked twice to make sure that if my camera gear is lost in total (all of it) that I am covered for all of it. I was shocked that my homeowners coverage would be that good. I do have separate policies for my computers that costs me about $15.00 a year. I know this is total coverage because my son's laptop died last year and my insurance covered a replacement for it. That alone paid out more than I've paid for coverage total.

By the way, shouldn't this be in different forum?

If it's personal use, homeowners insurance should cover it - However this is speaking for the united states.
But if it's business use, it's not covered in homeowners insurance.

$35 for up to $2500 with no deductible. Next week I'm raising my coverage though, I think it will be around $60 for $5,000.

Cost me $0 for up to $100,000 Cover no items need to be itemised and i have no deductable, Covered for loss, damage, theft, fire, rain, Other "Acts of God" and even my own stupidity. Did i mention cover is world wide and it is for a new replacement on any item, oh and i am allowed to keep the damaged one. All through my dads extensive home insurance plan (And yes i can use them for profesional/business use) not sure of the company though.

I have my 300D and MVX150I (video) covered through AAMI for 'off the premises" (in car..on holidays etc) cover and it is not cheap...
Normal H/Hold covers the items while in the yard..

I am paying $200 a year for just over $13k. It is a personal articles floater that was done and is a $0 dedutible. With going more commercial now I am looking at $500 a year for $14k coverage and a $1 Mill lilability coverage which is required by some clients. All this is through State Farm

State Farm also, and I've got commercial colverage due to newspaper submissions. Covered for $4mill, and it covers all my gear ($3K) for $19.00 a month

$4 Million is a little overkill ain't it? I mean, in my business most companies want to see proof of (no more then) $1 Million insurance.

Depends where you are. I know in upscale places in CA, some hotels and whatnot require at least 3M liability.
My gear is roughly $230ish a year. Covered anywhere in the world, no deductible. And thats for Just under $18k worth of gear insured. I basically insure anything thats $500 or more when it comes to my gear.

I do mine through AAMI along with my home insurance - 80k or so of coverage for the home contents and up to.. er.. $13k or something of my camera gear, covered anywhere in Australia and for up to a month overseas or somesuch like that?
I'm gonna call them in the coming week to discuss changing the way it works, though.. it's about $600/year at the moment and I'm wondering if I can't get it cheaper by doing it as though it's for work and not pleasure as I'm doing more paid work now and could qualify.

It was the same price for $1mill or $4mill so I took 4. I should note, this is commercial insurance with $4mill liability. Ya never know when the wrong papparazzi photo will come out of your camera ;)

The advantage of my additional camera insurance is that it covers everything from lost equipment to broken equipment. I figure it is well worth a few dollars a year payment to guarantee that nothing will break. I have a special add on to my homeowners with AAA in California.

About $700/year for $20K worth of gear in Australia/NZ - this is professional insurance and covers breakage, theft etc.
