BLS

The theme for this week is "Event." Interpret this any way you like, as different and unusual interpretations are always welcome.

Here are the rules:

1. Shots need to be taken between sunrise Monday and sunset the following Sunday. Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Crummy shots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!

2. Post your shots at any time during the week.

3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're embedding them at POTN. You can post more than two if you link to shots that are not hosted by POTN, but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size and limit the size of each shot to a maximum of 800px on its longer side.

That's it! Have fun!

I have a shot of my interpretation of an event =P or more of story telling. Bad exposure bad composition but it shows a story. I will upload it later.

Well, the dog and I had an 'event' this morning. We call this 'Man and Beast'. He loves to play and this time, I took the camera with me.

Here is an event I witnessed. I went to the post office to mail out some items and I came home and saw these birds on my roof so I took a few quick snapshots of them and then ran to get my sigma lens. These are quick snaps, so excuse the bad exposure but they do tell a story.

Start from Top Left goto Top Right and then Bottom Left, etc...

Crissa -- Sorry about your son's illness. Hope he's better now. Fevers are never fun. Everyone seems to have enjoyed the party. That first shot is likely to become a treasure in the future.

I have 2 more events from this week.

The first:

My macro lens arrived - so here is a strawberry - macro version! :D

The second:

My inlaws came to visit - and while I was 'playing' with the macro lens, this came up:

He is my father-in-law. He has worked the land all his life (he left school at age 7). He has seen and done a lot - including surviving several bouts of cancer. Quite an event in himself, that man.

John -- The shot of your father-in-law makes me smile, something about his expression.

75D -- Gotta love that 1st shot!

My event invloves the band in which I play alto sax. On the 4th Thursday of every month we play a dinner dance that is presented jointly by our band and an American Legion (organization for armed service veterans). Here are a couple of shots of the preparations for the dance.

Band members set up our equipment and music stands.
