I was wandering around waiting for my girl to finish work....30D, 50mm lens at f2. I was struck by the contrast of the stars against the old building with it's old signage and drab weathered exterior, they seemed a nice counterpoint to Xmas.

Very nice and moody shot for this time of the year, Roger. The two flags are good elements for the picture.

I'm having a couple of glasses of Italian Merlot, you?I'm having - guess what - Australian cabsav/shiraz/malbec from Brown Brothers, very nice, full bodied and warming in this dark, wet night. Xmas eve dinner is over, and the whole country is settling down into Xmas peace.

Okay... nice party. BUT... the image is hot too. Odd how it seems simultaneously lonely yet sadly festive. Odd how it seems simultaneously familiar yet foreign. I wonder why the aluminum siding guys never made a lot of sales in these places. Aren't they entitled to the same ugliness we find on a bunch of our streets?
Have a merry and happy...

thanks Ted you're on the ball as usual, this is exactly what prompted me to shoot this scene...hope you're having a great holiday season.

thanks a lot...not much PP done to this at all actually, it didn't need it to emphasise the feeling that was there.
