Do you shoot weddings with your focus conformation beep on or off?

The beep could really get annoying during quiet situations!!

Wouldn't the shutter sound be just as annoying? Is there a way to turn that off? A friend of mine has a few Nikons and he said he can turn his off. I've never tried, I quite like the shutter sound on the 30D but I can imagine the sound during a quiet ceremony could be annoying just like the AF beep.

Definitely leave the AF sound off... also, the shutter sound is there to stay. The sound you hear is actually the mirror flipping up and down!

Always turn the beep off...wedding or no wedding :)

Thanks, Erik. I actually thought that sound was artificially created since it's so different from the XT to the 30D. And my friend was either lying or mistaking the shutter sound for the AF beep. But he certainly said it was the click of the shutter he turned off on his Nikon.

Can you ask for your money back if the AF beep sounds and the shot is out of focus? :)

Speaking of stupid electronic noises, how about the shutter click on a Canon S1 IS? It has no shutter so why the stupid sound?

I think all P&S camera manufacturers have this stupid idea that people want to hear a shutter noise :rolleyes:
