What are the best settings/steps for saving images to my web page in order to obtain the best quality? I'm using CS3

Do you have serious bandwidth limitations?
if yes; I use File/scripts/Image Resizer and put in the size of my choice and quality 7 or 8-ish for most images.

I have broadband cable and thus no real big limitations. I usually just use file/save for web and use a JPG quality of 100 but I've noticed a number of options available within that window that I'm unfamiliar with. I'm thinking I might be missing out on using something that would give me the highest possible quality.

If it is a photo you are saving use about 70-80% compression, which will optimise the file size but still give you good quality. Any line drawings use gif adaptive and then select the amount of colours that satisfy you. Make sure you have the optimise tab selected so you can see your results live.

If you shoot in adobe RGB make sure to convert it to sRGB before saving it to web!
